He Tacoronte City Hallin response to the indications offered today by Teidagua, the company providing the management and distribution of water from the public network in the city, announces that the correct functioning of the service is guaranteed, also in these days led by the high temperatures and adverse weather.
“So far there have been no cuts or interruptions in the water supply of any house or community of Tacoronte”says the Councilor for Water, Jesús Acosta, although on the other hand, “Yes, a lower pressure is beginning to be detected at the taps and usual entry points, as a consequence of the progressive increase in consumption on these hot days”he warns.
This situation can be aggravated by the appearance of specific breakdowns in the pipeline map or by actions to modernize the network, with occasional interruptions, duly informed to the population.
Acosta reports that the Tacoronte City Council maintains direct and permanent contact with Teidagua, a detailed monitoring of the work undertaken by the entity to guarantee the service in this period of drought, in such a way that no neighbor is left without water at home.
To avoid the feared water cuts, from the Town Hall a appeal to the public in general, so that as far as possible, during the summer period, for example, the continuous filling of swimming pools and other aquatic resources, the irrigation of cultivated land, using the water network for this purpose, is avoided drinking water or carrying out household chores with huge amounts of water. These behaviors are intended to curb excessive consumption and thus avoid future supply interruptions.
The Government group, for its part, has decided to drastically reduce the work of watering gardens or washing streets and public spaces. The measure will remain in force, at least until the heat alert that currently affects the Island is deactivated.
