After hard work and perseverance from the residents of San Lorenzowho have been fighting for 12 years to revitalize the old Martinón dam, this abandoned space is about to be reborn as the San Lorenzo Sports Modernization Center, in The Gran Canarian palmsas reported by Diario As.
This sports center has impressive facilities that cover more than 15,000 square meters, of which 70% is protected due to its location in the natural area of Pino Santo. One of the main attractions that will be found in this place is the Pump Track, an initiative promoted by the Municipal Institute to promote physical activity and sport in the palms of Gran Canaria. The construction of this installation has been carried out by the company COMSA SAU, and Pumptrack Park SL has been in charge of the high-quality finish, known as Premium Plus, as well as the quality control and technical requirements necessary for it to comply with the current union regulations International Cyclist (UCI) and the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC)thus allowing its use in both national and international competitions.
More than 1,100 square meters
The Pump Track design occupies more than 1,100 square meters and, according to Christian Tidow, who is responsible for Pumptrack Park SL, it is considered the best pumptrack in the area. It is important to note that this company has just completed the construction of a similar facility in Fat tip (The Palm) and they already have plans to design another one in holy cross of Tenerife (Tenerife)demonstrating their experience and success in the development of this type of project.
The opening date of the center will be subject to the completion of the remaining works in the park where it is located. It should be noted that this notable investment of 2.7 million euros will make it possible to offer more than 15 sports disciplines for the enjoyment of visitors, which include activities such as shooting with arch, crossfit, pumptrack, trial, beach volleyball, soccer beach, handball, calisthenics, basketball and traditional grass footballamong many others.
