SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de El Hierro has proceeded to activate the Insular Emergency Plan (PEIN), as a result of the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands having declared a situation of alert in the western islands and Gran Canaria as of the 08.00 tomorrow Tuesday.
Based on the information available, starting tomorrow, Tuesday, an episode with high maximum temperatures is expected, which can exceed 37 degrees in Gran Canaria and 34 degrees on the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma and Tenerife.
Likewise, a moderate wind from the northeast is expected, which will blow strongly on the southeast and northwest slopes of the islands. At levels below 400 meters the trade wind regime will continue. Above that level the relative humidity will be below 30%.
Due to the meteorological conditions due to high temperatures in the forest mass, traffic is closed and prohibited on the forest roads and tracks (Yellow Level) that are indicated below: in the municipality of El Pinar, highway HI-45 from the Crossing from El Tomillar to Las Malinas (Malpaso), accesses from El Morcillo to Pino Piloto (3 forest tracks), track from El Brezal to Pino Piloto, La Sabinilla, Las Jarras track, Cruz de los Reyes-Torre Mercadel (it will only be accessed to the source), Los Marrubios firebreak (3 forest tracks), old nursery-Aula de La Naturaleza, crossing La Casilla to Aula de La Naturaleza, Tablada del Sargento, La Tagüenta-Marrubios firebreak, El Brezal road track-access track to Fuente El Lomo (in front of Tagüenta), El Brezal road track- access track to Fuente El Lomo (near the Llanía-Morcillo road junction)
