Campos (NC-BC) warns that lowering the IGIC is “the prelude to cuts” in the Canary Islands

The Canarian spokesman demands more “concretions” from the new government and makes CC and PP ugly to increase public spending with more ministries

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The spokesman for Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarias (NC-BC), Luis Campos, has warned this Tuesday that the ambiguous announcement of the drop in the IGIC from 7% to 5% made by the candidate for president, Fernando Clavijo, is “the prelude to of the cuts”.

In the investiture debate, he has warned that this year 540 million will be lost if it goes from 7% to 5%, an amount that will rise to more than 1,200 million in 2024 and will affect local corporations, while indicating that Clavijo is “unaware” of the data.

The spokesman for the Canarian formation has indicated that this cut “is not justified” because the tax burden on the islands is not so high apart from the fact that the debate on regional financing will be opened and there will be communities that influence those that renounce having income.

He has also pointed out that in NC the commitments “do not change” even if they are in the opposition, stressing that they have more councillors, preside over the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and have maintained the representation of five deputies in Parliament, being the only party of the ‘Pact of las Flores’ that did not lose support –apart from ASG–.

He has glossed over the figure of the president of the party, Román Rodríguez, who “has dedicated his life” to Canarian nationalism and the defense of the interests of the people and despite the fact that he will not be in Parliament in this legislature, “he will continue to be there “.

Campos has said that he is not going to “question” the legitimacy of the new government despite the fact that it is necessary to “deepen” in the reform of the electoral system, but he has asked for more “concretions” regarding the balance left by the ‘Pact of Flowers’ , with fewer unemployed and more employed and a better and more up-to-date application of the dependency law.

He has reported that the past Government “executed more” and in “more difficult” circumstances, he has denied that the Executive has “lined” with the collection given that there have been 40,000 million “placed at the service” of the people and the productive sectors.

He has also defended that taxes were lowered “selectively” to the sectors that “needed it the most” and all in a context marked by the pandemic, zero tourism, the eruption of La Palma or the migration crisis.

CLAVIJO AND DOMÍNGUEZ ARE THE “CHAMPIONS OF CUTS”

Campos has commented that Clavijo and Domínguez have been “champions of cuts” in previous crises and they already know them, since they represent the “developmentalism” of the land law, unemployment, Fdcan or “traffic jams”.

He has pointed out that the problems are not resolved by creating more ministries and political positions and has made the PP ugly by the contradictions of complaining about the “kiringuitos” when they increase the structure of the new Executive.

He has also shown his concern at the PP’s announcement to repeal the climate change law, for which he has asked Clavijo to be clear and set a position because one of the two government partners “lies.”

Campos has also said that Clavijo “is not credible” since he said in the campaign that he would not agree with Vox and has used that formation to obtain the mayoralty of Teguise, apart from the fact that the PP is sharing policies with the formation of Abascal.

NC WILL BE “IN FRONT” IF THERE ARE CUTS IN RIGHTS

Yes, he has extended his hand to the Government in defense of the general interests of the Canary Islands and the Saharawi people in the face of the “betrayal” of Pedro Sánchez –not of the Canarian Government– but he has warned that NC will be “in front” before each “step back” in rights.

He has shown his desire to “continue working” in the deployment of citizenship income and the defense of the Canarian “identity and culture”, something that he missed in the investiture speech, and in requalifying tourism and propping up services public.

He has also said that it is necessary to “work tirelessly” in defense of the Statute and the REF and the consolidation of the islands as OR, at which time he has defended the work of the previous Government to maintain funds despite the departure of the United Kingdom from the EU and leave the islands exempt from the ‘green tax’.

Campos has also regretted that Clavijo has not mentioned the defense of the rights of the LGTBI collective in his speech because it seems that it is “interesting” given the national political context and has criticized the candidate for president for putting on the table the accounting difficulties of his formation and that they completed the name change.

He has been ironic with the defense of feminism by CC when they were “relentless” in the last Legislature against the Minister of Social Rights, Noemí Santana, and especially by the women themselves.

He has demanded that Clavijo “continue to improve” in social and economic indicators, especially in health, whose data has worsened despite the increase in funds and due to the “collapse” in surgical interventions as a result of the pandemic.
