The socialist mayor Sandra Izquierdo maintains the management of the Culture area

The plenary session of the Tacoronte City Council recently formalized the organization and distribution of powers of the new government group, chaired by the mayoress, Sandra Izquierdo (PSOE), who maintains direct management of the Culture area. The proposal includes the participation of twelve councilors in management tasks, with a total of 40 work areas managed by the 11 representatives of the three forces that make up the pact for the governance of the city: PSOE, Canarian Coalition and People’s Party.

The First Deputy Mayor, Noemí García (CC), will manage Parties, Mobility, Transportation, Citizen Participation and Neighborhood Associations. José Caro (PP) occupies the second tenure of Mayor and is in charge of Social Services, Works and Services and Trade Personnel. For Tarsis Morales (PSOE), the third tenure of Mayor and Urbanism, Accessibility, Heritage, Coasts, Innovation and New Technologies, while Eduardo Dávila (CC), fourth deputy mayor, is in charge of Finance, Contracting, Local Development and Employment and Solid Waste.

the councilor Yaiza Diaz (PP) will be responsible for Youth and Sports for the next four years, as well as fifth deputy mayor. The delegated department of Ecological Transition, Primary Sector and Parks and Gardens will be led by Arsenio Gómez (PSOE), sixth deputy mayor. The Local Government Board is completed by Martín Luna (CC), seventh deputy mayor and head of Tourism, Citizen Security, Local Police and Civil Protection.

For his part, Magdalena Avila (PSOE) assumes the leadership of the areas of Commerce, Sanitation and Health, Animal Welfare and Cemetery; Raquel Torres (PSOE) takes over Human Resources, Education and the Municipal Consumer Information Office (OMIC), and Vanessa Luis-Ravelo (CC) will direct the Department of Communication and Press, Associations for the Elderly, Equality and Volunteering. The list of municipal managers is completed by Jesús Acosta (PP), in charge of Public Lighting, Water, Sanitation, Family Support and Addictions.

Wages

During the plenary session, the approval of the gross annual remuneration that the members of the Government will receive, set at 52,220 euros for the Mayor-Presidency, and at 43,470 euros for nine of the councilors of the group. All of them will have exclusive dedication.

Eduardo Dávila will be hired part-time, with a gross salary of 39,123 euros, while the mayor Martín Luna will not receive direct compensation. The Tacorontero government affirms that “the increase in wages, if compared with the figures set in the initial session of the last term, corresponds to the update of close to 15% of the CPI of the last four years.”

The measure affects in identical proportion the camounts that the members of the Corporation will receive that they do not have exclusive or partial dedication for their assistance to the collegiate bodies of the local administration: plenary sessions, information commissions, local government boards and spokespersons boards.

The Plenary also gave the green light to the configuration of four posts for temporary staff, dDesigned to strengthen the areas of Communication, Local Development, Culture and Festivals. The ordinary plenary sessions have been set for the first Thursday of each month, starting at 12:00. The Tacoronte City Council will have a total of five municipal groups: PSOE, Coalición Canaria, Nueva Canary IslandsPopular and Mixed Party, in which the formations Somos Tacoronte, Sí Se Puede, Ciudadanos and Vox are integrated.
