SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife will proceed this Saturday to close traffic on the TF-5 highway between kilometer points 39+500 and 48+500 between San Juan de la Rambla and Los Realejos to improve safety and stabilize the slopes in such a way that only access will be allowed to residents whose destination is located between these two points.
The road will remain closed on the two weekends in July –8 and 9 and 15 and 16 July– between 07:30 and 19:00 and heavy vehicles will only be allowed to pass on Saturdays (8 and 15) between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m.
The Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga, points out in a note that “in the last three years the stretch of road between the Ruiz ravine and the service station has suffered serious landslides and it is necessary to act immediately to guarantee safety”.
Thus, it indicates that “to carry out the work it is necessary to cut the road and divert traffic, so the next two weekends a section of the TF-5 will be closed.”
Arteaga details that “these are emergency works that must be carried out to prevent landslides and guarantee the safety of all people.”
In the north direction, traffic will be diverted from the TF-5 motorway at kilometer point 39+500 through exit number 39 in the direction of Los Realejos, guiding traffic to La Guancha through the TF-342 to then return to connect with the TF-5 going down the TF-352.
In the Santa Cruz direction, traffic will be diverted at the junction of the TF-5 with the TF-352 towards La Guancha and then, through the TF-342, guide them to Los Realejos –link number 39 of the TF-5 — from which it reconnects with the TF-5 in that direction.
