The events occurred on Sunday morning, when agents carried out a check point for alcohol and drugs, a vehicle was stopped whose driver, after initially slowing down, accelerated sharply, running over a guard civilian after starting his flight, causing various injuries and having to be transferred to a hospital.
After the events, a device was established for the search and location of the accused, through coordination with other Civil Guard patrols, managing to locate the vehicle and arrest the driver, who was turned over to the Investigating Court No. 3 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which decreed his entry into prison.
The crime of attack against an agent of authority is punishable in article 550.2 of the Penal Code with a custodial sentence of 6 months to 3 years. The crime of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages is regulated in article 379.2 of the Criminal Code, which establishes imprisonment for 3 to 6 months or a fine of 6 to 12 months or with work for the benefit of the community from 31 to 90 days and in any case with the deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles or mopeds for a period of more than one and up to four years.
And the crime of reckless driving, which is stipulated in 380.1 of the Penal Code, is punishable by imprisonment from six months to two years and deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for more than one and up to six years.
