Tenerife offers the perfect trails to enjoy this summer

The tourists who visit Tenerife are increasingly diverse: they are looking for the beach, nature, leisure, rest, culture, heritage… The fact that the Island has the possibility of offering activities for all these profiles is one of the advantages of the territory as a tourist destination.

But also the people of Tenerife who want to take advantage of the good weather of the summer months have endless options at their disposal to enjoy the summer. Although the beach continues to be the big star, more and more people are opting for nature, and that is why on the Island they have activities such as hiking proliferated.

What if both could be combined? Trails with stops on the beach to cool off they become the ideal choice for the next few weeks. These are the most popular routes:

The Barranco de Masca is an essential stop for lovers of hiking. It begins in the charming hamlet of Masca, a place that captivates thousands of visitors every year with its beauty. Doing this route requires being in good physical shape, since currently it is not possible to just go down and take a boat to Los Gigantes, a very popular option in the past. Now it is necessary to book a ticket through the official website (https://www.caminobarrancodemasca.com/) to access both the descent and the ascent, and the trail is only open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Despite these conditions, it is undoubtedly a route worth exploring. Once you reach Masca beach, you can take a refreshing dip before tackling the steep climb with determination.

Cruz del Carmen-La Punta

In the northern part of the island, there is an impressive path that extends from the summit to the beach. With a maximum difference in altitude of 916 meters, this route will take you from Cruz del Carmen to Punta del Hidalgo, offering you a route of medium difficulty that combines trails, forest tracks and some road sections. It is a perfect option to enjoy panoramic views of the Anaga coast. As a final touch, you can immerse yourself in the waters of La Punta and, if you are lucky, watch a spectacular sunset. This route will give you an unforgettable experience in the middle of nature, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the landscape while you enter the heart of the island. Get ready to be amazed at every step and enjoy the magic of Tenerife at its best.

Malpais de Güimar Tenerife Tourism

Malpais de Güimar

If you are looking for another path with views of the sea, we recommend exploring the Malpaís de Güímar. This circular path begins and ends at the Puertito de Güímar. The Malpaís de Güímar is a Special Nature Reserve of great ecological importance, which has been declared a protected area since 1987. Its volcanic landscape extends from Montaña Grande to the coast and is home to numerous endemic species.

In addition to its ecological value, this trail in Tenerife offers another attraction: caves. One of the most impressive is the Cueva Honda or Cueva de los Burros (not accessible), with more than 100 meters in length and heights of up to 5 meters in some sections.

To complete your hiking day, you can relax on the beaches of Puertito de Güímar. Enjoy its calm waters and its coastal atmosphere after exploring the fascinating landscape of the Malpaís.

Porís de Abona.

Poris de Abona – Abades

In the municipality of Arico, a simple circular route awaits you that will take you from Porís de Abona to Abades. Following the coast, the landscape of this southern part of the island offers a notable contrast with the exuberance of the north, showing you an arid but equally captivating landscape. Throughout approximately 10 kilometers, you will have the opportunity to capture memorable images of this singular beauty. This trail is perfect for exploring with the family and discovering small coves that are not usually in tourist guides.

During the tour, you will be able to cool off with a bath in the enabled beaches of both coastal towns. Enjoy the water and relax as you immerse yourself in the charm of the south coast.

Do not miss the opportunity to walk this circular route in the municipality of Arico. You will discover the fascinating beauty of this coastal area and experience unforgettable moments with your family while you explore the hidden coves and dive into the crystal clear waters of the beaches.
