The mayoress of the Tegueste City Council, Ana Rosa Mena (PSOE), has signed the decree that establishes the distribution of powers in the new local government, and which has already entered into force.
It should be remembered that the Mayor’s Office, now held by Ana Rosa Mena, will be ceded after the first two years in office to Norberto Padilla (CC), by virtue of the government agreement reached between PSOE and CC after the elections on May 28.
“The councilors appointed to manage the affairs of our town make up a group that combines experience, knowledge and enthusiasm, with the common objective of achieving the well-being of Teguesteros and Teguesteras, which involves the development of the local economy and the promotion of sustainability, among other issues that we are already working on”, highlighted the mayoress. Specifically, in accordance with the decree, Norberto Padilla Melián will hold the first tenure of Mayor and will direct the areas of Finance, Internal Regime, Citizen Security, New Technologies, Contracting and Civil Protection.
Erika Hernández Acosta will be the second deputy mayor and will lead the areas of Social Action, Health, Education and Transportation. While Javier Galván Rodríguez will direct the areas of Water, Municipal Services and Mobility and, in addition, he will be the third deputy mayor.
For her part, Ariadna Hernández Gutiérrez will direct the areas of Historical, Artistic and Identity Heritage and will be the fifth deputy mayor. Similarly, the decree also includes the designation of special neighborhood delegations, whose objective is to channel citizen participation in said territorial areas, promoting meetings with neighbors and receiving their suggestions, complaints and other issues.
In this sense, Candelaria García Herrera will be councilor for El Socorro, El Lomo and La Padilla Baja; Norberto Padilla, by Pedro Álvarez; Adrián Rodríguez González, from El Portezuelo and Padilla Alta; Maura Martel, from Las Toscas, El Gomero and San Luis, and Eladia López Lutzardo, from Tegueste Casco.
