SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has ratified the sentence of ten and a half years in prison imposed by the Court of Las Palmas on a monitor from a religious school in La Orotava for abusing several minors between 2015 and 2017, one of them his own nephew.
The sentence, made public this Friday, dismisses the appeal filed by the convicted person in application of the “only yes is yes” law, and clarifies that the facts are not “less serious”, as stated, since he acted on minors “in his condition as an employee of a religious school and in a framework of preval and abuse of superiority of singular gravity, overcoming the resistance of the minor victims by insisting, even going so far as to offer them gifts”.
He even masturbated his nephew, took intimate images and even offered him money with promises that he would help him have sex with a woman.
He convinced the rest of the minors through networks such as Instagram or ‘whatsapp’ to send him intimate photographs and even, on a school trip to Gran Canaria, played an erotic film in front of two minors and masturbated.
In addition to the prison sentence, the man has to face compensation worth more than 250,000 euros for the crimes of sexual abuse of minors, exhibitionism, trickery and use of a minor to produce child pornography.
