SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS), has launched a line of individual aid for women victims of gender violence, with the aim of covering their basic needs and alleviating the situation of social vulnerability which often derives from the situation of abuse.
The Institute’s Gender Violence Unit will allocate more than 530,000 euros with which the dependents under their care will also benefit indirectly.
The second vice president and counselor for Social Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Marián Franquet, explains in a note that with this grant they intend to “be a support for women victims of gender violence and survivors during their recovery.”
Thus, remember that its creation is part of the measures implemented by the island corporation to help overcome the social consequences of gender violence, preventing the precariousness of these women.
“Encouraging these women to build a new life independently is one of the most important steps in the process they are going through,” says Franquet, who recalls that many of them have been victims of economic violence that leaves them at risk of social vulnerability.
In addition to women victims of gender violence, other people who are affected by an attempted femicide may benefit from this aid, such as dependent daughters and sons of the murdered woman, people who assume guardianship of the daughters and sons of the victim, those whose parents have been murdered by vicarious violence or the people who assume the care of women who suffer disability due to an attempted femicide.
The regulatory bases that will govern the granting of these aids have already been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and applications may be submitted from the day following the publication of the call in the BOP.
The application model is available in the forms and applications section of the IASS website (https://www.iass.es/).
