Three young people arrested in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for stealing inside several cars and ramming two Local Police patrols after a chase

Agents of the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife arrested three young people between the ages of 20 and 21 early last Saturday morning. The detainees would have carried out various robberies with force in several vehicles that were parked in the surroundings of the Maritime Park of the capital of Tenerife, next to Constitución Avenue. The agents became aware of these facts after the notice made by members of the Port Authority.

Local Police units went to the place and found that at least two cars had broken windows. Another police patrol observed a gray Opel Antara, in which several young people were traveling whose description coincided with the information provided about the alleged perpetrators of these events.

The police officers tried to stop them to proceed with their identification, ignoring such indications. In addition, they did not respect the signaling of a traffic light on Fomento street and began to circulate at high speed, thus beginning a chase through several streets of the city.

Two patrols blocked the way for the vehicle at Ramiro de Maeztu street, ignoring and ramming the police cars and a taxi that was stopped in the area. The three occupants tried to flee on foot in the direction of the Northern highway (TF-5), being hit by the agents 400 meters away. The police officers transferred those arrested to a health center and were later placed at the disposal of the pertinent judicial authority. In addition, it was found that the driver did not have a driving license.
