SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Escritura entre las Nubes has launched ‘La casona de Clara’, the first novel by Ángeles Jiménez, a work that reflects on “how life can be reorganized after fifty when it seems that it is no longer possible to undertake anything new”, as explained by the author.
This volume will be presented on Wednesday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m. at the Teatro del Círculo de Amistad XII de Enero in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The act will be presented by the vice-president and head of Culture of this entity, Ana María Díaz Pérez, and will participate, together with Ángeles Jiménez, the writer Miguel Ángel Brito (member of the committee of La Esfera Cultural) and the editor of the work Elena Morales. In addition, the public will be able to enjoy a dramatized reading by Tere, Mabel, Nieves Lorenzo and Nieves Díaz and other surprises.
The author dedicates this story to the memory of Clara and Juan, her great-grandparents. Although it is “pure fiction,” the novel is inspired by a factual basis, which is why she says: “any resemblance to reality is not just coincidence.”
Ángeles Jiménez was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1966. She is a doctor by profession, work that she combines with writing and her studies in Spanish Philology at the University of La Laguna.
He has participated with other authors in different publications of short stories: Compromised minitexts (Ed. Idea, 2013), Historias fonendoscópicas (Fundación Médicos de Tenerife, 2013), Crónicas del Acojeja (Ed. Esféricas, 2016), Entrepáginas (Ed. La Esfera Culture, 2018); and in the collective novel CasaDores (Ed. District 93, 2022).
He has collaborated with several short stories in the Literature section of the Acta Médica magazine. In 2022 he single-published Stitches with thread (Ed. Idea), a collection of short stories. La casona de Clara is his first novel.
