SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de La Palma, through the Ministry of Security and Emergencies, and the Spanish Red Cross have launched several first aid courses with the aim that emergency responders have training that helps them make a first assessment, know the most appropriate procedures and techniques in self-protection, know how to identify and respond effectively to emergency situations.
The acting counselor for the area, Nieves Rosa Arroyo, has highlighted the importance of ongoing training for people who intervene in emergencies, which the Cabildo de La Palma develops in collaboration with the Spanish Red Cross, to give the best response in circumstances of great difficulty such as those experienced in emergencies.
In a second line of action, and taking into account that emotional injuries are as real and serious as physical ones, courses have been given to prepare the interveners to deal with this type of situation as a guarantee of better emotional stability and to be capable of managing the emotional states that arise from their activity in the field of emergencies, with themselves and with the people who are affected by this type of situation.
Training activities are also carried out on emergency protocols, where experts in this field have shared their knowledge with emergency responders, with the aim of promoting and disseminating a culture of prevention against risks and disasters, as well as promoting coordination between various emergency assistance and intervention services.
