SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Society for the Promotion of Persons with Disabilities (Sinpromi), has published the new accessibility technical sheets that technical professionals in architecture and urban planning will be able to access to facilitate that both in Public spaces as well as buildings comply with current regulations in this area.
These are documents in which, based on the space or type of element on which action is to be taken (toilets, ramps, car parks, elevators, etc.), practical information is offered on the legislation that must be applied as well as various alternatives. to do so, including drawings and explanatory graphic elements. The same document also details recommendations, which are marked in green.
The sheets are already available on the Sinpromi website, where they can be consulted and downloaded for free, through the link https://sinpromi.es/area-de-accesibilidad/ . Two blocks are distinguished in it: one focused on urban planning, where the basic conditions of accessibility in public spaces are collected, and another in which the accessibility conditions that buildings must meet can be consulted.
As a novelty in this edition, the files in PDF format are complemented with graphics in CAD-DWG, which makes it easier for professionals to insert it into the projects they are designing. This new format also favors that the new works that are carried out comply with all the requirements established in the regulations.
The acting third vice-president and insular councilor for Social Action, Marián Franquet, highlighted that through these new technical resources “it is intended to go one step further to guarantee universal accessibility on the island of Tenerife, responding to the demand of professionals to have updated regulations and different graphic solutions that facilitate good practices and unify criteria at the island level”.
Marián Franquet recalls that universal accessibility “is fundamental to guarantee the full inclusion and exercise of the rights of both people with disabilities and those other people who, due to various circumstances, at some point in their lives see their capacities reduced, such as the elderly, parents with baby carriages, obese people, women in an advanced state of pregnancy, etc.
The new urban planning and building technical sheets have been organized by areas depending on the area of application: parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility; Access; tours; ramps; stairs; elevators; accessible toilets; affordable housing; swimming pools; furniture; signaling and evacuation.
Sinpromi’s Accessibility Area designs and develops different information and training resources, as a fundamental line of action, to raise awareness and ensure the effective application of regulations in the design of environments, products and services, where universal accessibility is incorporated in a way comprehensive, guaranteeing equal opportunities for people with disabilities and raising the quality of use for all of society.
