The Cabildo de Tenerife offers 295 public employment positions, 100 for the fight against fire

The Council of Tenerife approved the Offer of Employment Public (OEP) for 2023 with a total of 295 positions distributed in the List of Jobs (RPT). The acting island president, Peter Martin, the endowment of 100 destined to the service of Prevention and Extinction of Fires with which “we want to guarantee that we have the necessary human resources to maintain and take care of the natural environment of the Island”. The Presidency, Treasury and Modernization area approved in the last meeting of the Island Government Council, the OEP that aims to cover the personnel needs of the Island Corporation and improve the efficiency of the services it provides to citizens.

The jobs related to firefighting refer to 84 operators and 16 environmental agents that represent an important reinforcement of the own means that the Tenerife Council has to preserve one of the main patrimonial values ​​of the Island: its environment. natural and scenic. “This is a time of maximum risk of forest fires occurring due to different factors” –from heat to relative humidity or wind– values ​​the acting president. For this reason, he emphasizes, “it is essential to increase human resources to guarantee the maintenance and care of our valuable forests and green spaces.”

The Public Employment Offer of the Cabildo de Tenerife for 2023 also contemplates 38 free access places, of which 13 are for civil servants and 25 are for labor personnel. These are jobs related to the maintenance of island roads; Apart from another 54 jobs reserved for internal promotion.

Likewise, 103 places are offered corresponding to the specific rate included in Law 31/2022 of General State Budgets for 2023, by which, in an extraordinary way, administrations are allowed to authorize a number of the necessary to meet the objective of reducing temporary employment in public employment to below 8%, provided that it is justified in accordance with multi-annual planning.

In this context, the counselor of the acting Presidency area, Berta Pérez, explains that “the qualification of these 103 places, together with the job offers and the stabilization processes that we develop will allow the Cabildo de Tenerife to comply with the temporary ratio that has been marked for public employment”. Reducing the temporary rate has been one of the great objectives in this 2019-2023 mandate hand in hand with the unions.
