SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Casimiro Curbelo has been re-elected president of the Cabildo de La Gomera in the solemn constitution session of the Island Corporation, of which he is the top leader for the ninth consecutive legislature, after the victory of the Gomera Socialist Association (ASG) in the last elections, whose The results establish the composition of the plenary session at 11 directors for ASG, 3 for the PSOE, 2 for IxLG and 1 for CC.

The president of the Cabildo focused his words on the island that has been built and on which they want to build, from planning in terms of sustainability and improving people’s lives, “two lines that support the government action that up to now we have materialized and what we are already planning for these four years”, he said in his speech.

In this sense, Casimiro Curbelo appealed for unity and not to look from political parties or ideologies: “That is why I want to repeat that I extend my hand to all so that we collaborate in contributing the best of each one of us for the well-being of the citizens of La Gomera”.

He alluded to the commitment shown by the Cabildo during the last legislature and the balance it leaves on the island: “La Gomera today is better than four years ago, and the one we leave at the end of this legislature will be better.” Thus, he stressed that the challenges that come “are not announcements lacking in content, they are real, feasible and achievable measures, which come to make a better Gomera and with equal opportunities.”

He pointed to an unprecedented transformation that places the island as a benchmark and that will be accentuated with the implementation of the Gomera36 strategy, which brings together more than 230 projects to move towards a sustainable economic, social and environmental model. In this way, he emphasized facing this challenge from the conviction of achieving an “intelligent, resilient and inclusive island, from a social point of view.”

He announced that the new government team “will continue to be that of the people”, from “the defense of democratic values ​​and institutional cooperation with all public administrations”.

The event began with the interpretation of the Canary Islands anthem by the San Sebastián School of Music, which gave way to the interpretation of two pieces of music by Antonio Lorenzo on violin and Rubén Díaz on guitar. During the constitutive session, the 17 councilors promised their positions, and a turn to speak was opened for the heads of the list of the candidacies with representation in the Plenary, Mª Inmaculada Rodríguez (PSOE), Aarón Rodríguez (IxLG) and Christian Mendez (CC)

COMPOSITION OF THE NEW CORPORATION

Regarding the composition of the new Corporation, by Agrupación Socialista Gomera: Casimiro Curbelo, Adasat Reyes, Cristina Ventura, Héctor Cabrera, Guillermo Medina, Aníbal González, Noelia Morales, María Isabel Méndez, Angélica Padilla, Rosa Elena García and Emiliano Coello.

The advisers of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party are María Inmaculada Rodríguez, Silvia Padilla and José María Morales. On behalf of Initiative for La Gomera are Aarón Rodríguez and Guzmán Correa. Finally, the counselor of the Canary Coalition is Christian Méndez.
