Video game, esports and technology lovers have an appointment at ‘Tenerife GG’

The acting president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Peter Martinthe acting First Vice President and Innovation Counselor, Enrique Arriagaand the director of the Canarian Esports League HiperDino, Antonio Cabrerahave presented today the second edition of Tenerife G.G.which will take place from July 11 to 16 at the Recinto Ferial de la Isla.

The Auditorio de Tenerife has been the setting chosen for this presentation in which, for just over half an hour, all the details of this edition were exposed and which aims to far exceed the success of the first, after registering more than 15,500 visits between participants and visitors last year.

Peter Martin He highlighted that “Tenerife once again has a very powerful proposal for foreign promotion through this event that transcends borders and that moves an important fan base worldwide.” “An opportunity to enjoy a space for leisure and culture on the island, and to forge projects, initiatives and proposals that help position Tenerife as a point of reference in the video game industry.”

For his part, Enrique Arriaga pointed out that “talking about the Tenerife G.G. it is more than just talking about a meeting of the technology sector, since it is one of the most important events for thousands of fans both inside and outside the island, but also for professionals”. In addition, Arriaga highlighted that “it will have activities, shows, prizes and presentations that will bring together young people and adults with the same guiding element: the gaming”.

According to Antonio Cabrera “from HDG and the Canarian Esports League HiperDino we are tremendously satisfied. We have a lot of experience, since 2006 our team has been responsible for 12 editions of the largest technology festival in the Canary Islands, before under other names, now Tenerife G.G.”.

He added that “organizing and executing a project like this involves enormous work for the organization and many collaborating entities. But the reality that is presented to us is very gratifying; it is no longer specifically a festival for fans of technology or video games. He gaming it is much more, it is in the culture of our society at all levels, leisure, education, industry, art, professional development,…Tenerife G.G. It is a festival that brings together the entire Canarian society, national and international, in a celebration of the culture in which we live. It has an extremely positive social acceptance and it is something that is reflected both in the attendees and in the fact that the Cabildo de Tenerife and HiperDino join forces to make it a reality, as well as an endless number of entities, professionals, volunteers and sponsors to whom we are very thankful.”

During the six days of the event, Tenerife will once again position itself as one of the most important enclaves in the world gaming and technology, not only nationally, but also internationally.

Programming

With four well-differentiated zones, the LAN Party zone will be the perfect place for lovers of technology and video games, since they will have unlimited access to an ultra-fast and stable network connection 24 hours a day. In addition, they will be able to enjoy tournaments and spontaneous performances on stage for six consecutive days, and a HiperDino store will be set up in the same venue.

Area Gaming It is a space dedicated to videogames and culture gamer, where you can enjoy activities, competitions, experiences, with a wide catalog of games: League of Legends; Valorant; Tekken 7; Fortnite; FIFA 2023; Clash Royale, and Mariokart, among many others.

There will be more than 100 tournaments, with broadcast on streaming and great prizes for the winners, along with content creators and professional gamers as guests.

The visitor area aims to bring together thousands of gamers and the general public, to enjoy exhibitions, workshops, a shopping area, activities and cosplay, as well as K-pop, shows and a space for content creators and independent artists called Artist Alley.

Hobby G.G. It will be the best meeting point for families with boys and girls of all ages, bringing together activities, games, creative workshops and crafts on technology.

Already in the professional area, different spaces will host training talks, game presentations and presentations from the technology industry and gaming.

This year, in addition, teachers have a section dedicated to them and to discovering the importance of Game-Based Learning (ABJ), a technique that transforms the game into an educational tool.

Francis Lam, teacher and founder of Didactilam; Manu Sánchez, Primary Education teacher and writer; Juan Carlos Ruiz, teacher and founder of Aula en Juego, and Diego Villanueva, teacher and co-founder of Ludocentes, will be some of the guests at the ABJ Educational Training.
