The City Council of La Laguna sent yesterday Monday to the organizers of the Reggaeton Beach Festival in Tenerife the unfavorable report for holding the event on land located next to the Montaña Pacho soccer fields, which is scheduled for July 1 and 2, as confirmed by the promoters to DIARIO DE AVISOS. “The points that it puts are totally rectifiable and we are working on it,” they point out.
The Local Government Electoral Board, based on the “inconveniences” expressed by different municipal areas, considered last week that “there are no sufficient security guarantees for an event of these characteristics to develop normally, due to the expected volume and the enclosure conditions“.
Faced with this situation, the organizers of the RBF insist that “the only notification we have received includes two unfavorable points in the file: one for the issue of car parks and another for the use of soccer fields, which are not transferred to us. Both are expendable ”, they affirm.
They also clarify that to date “the City Council has not told us that it is not going to be held nor has it given us a report denying the permit, but rather an unfavorable report”. For this reason, and with the aim of meeting the deadlines, they are now focused on correcting these issues. “We are focused on working and that this can be celebrated.”
From Esperanza to Pacho Mountain
The festival was to be held at the old zoo of La Laguna, known as Safari Kudu, in a space located in front of the La Esperanza karting. However, it was decided to change the venue due to some technical aspects related to the ground. “To avoid problems, we moved to the Montaña Pacho land. A space of about 65,000 meters“, point out the organizers, to whom the news has taken them by surprise. “At first they told us that everything was perfect, that it was urban land and that the accesses were better because it is an industrial estate.”
They consider that the new location is “one of the best places” for the development of the festival, since they understand that it is a space of considerable dimensions and that it is well connected with the accesses from the highways of the South, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the north of the island.
capacity of 20,000 people
The RBF 2023 Tenerife ticket prices They range between 80 and 225 euros, varying depending on the days and type of subscription. “We are going to a capacity of 20,000 people, which is what has been stipulated since day one with the City Council,” they insist.
It should be remembered that the festival discontinued last summer, when it was going to be held in San Miguel de Abona, for “security reasons.” A first date on the Island for which some 20,000 tickets had been sold.
