The City Council of Los Realejos has constituted this Saturday its new municipal corporation and has proclaimed Adolfo mayor gonzalez Pérez-Siverio, who will lead the candidacy of the Popular Party in the elections on May 28, which resulted in an absolute majority of this formation with 15 representatives of the 21 elected, 5 from the Socialist Party and 1 from Canarian Coalition.
With this comes the fourth consecutive absolute majority of the Popular Party in the royal consistory, after the first victory of Manuel Dominguez Gonzalez in 2011 with 11 representatives, that of 2015 with 14 and that of 2019 with 15. He did not complete his last term for the period 2019-2023 when he resigned from office in June 2022, handing over the baton to his then deputy mayor, Adolfo González, who has held the position of mayor of Los Realejos City Council since that date, which he has revalidated with the last local elections.
For the Socialist Party, The electoral candidacy on May 28, 2023 was led by Miguel Agustín García Rodríguez, who in the last few hours made his resignation public and did not receive a councilor’s certificate, in the same way that his party partner Carmen Elisa Llanos did not either Lionwhich was number 4 on the PSOE realejero list. They have been replaced as representatives of the corresponding municipal group who occupied the 6th and 7th place on the aforementioned table. The results scrutinized at 100% after the elections last May determined a 69.86% participation among the 30,312 people called to the polls in the municipality. The Popular Party with 12,835 votes, the Socialist Party with 4,699 votes, the Canary Islands Coalition with 1,266 votes, Podemos with 847 votes, Vox with 505 votes, Now Canary Islands-Izquierda Realejera with 421 votes and citizens-Citizenship Party with 126 votes were the formations presented to this electoral call.
