SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has approved the award of the contract for the supply of bus shelters for some 50 high-demand stops spread throughout the island for an amount of 192,288 euros. The winning company will have a period of ten months to carry out these works in order to continue adapting the network of stops and access to public transport.
Specifically, the works will be carried out in the municipalities of Adeje, Arafo, El Tanque, Los Silos, San Juan de la Rambla and Santa Úrsula, where a canopy will be installed in each one; Buenavista del Norte, Candelaria, Guía de Isora, La Orotava and Tegueste, with two interventions respectively; Arona, Granadilla de Abona, Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz, with three new canopies in each municipality; five facilities in Tacoronte and 13 in La Laguna. In addition, there will be four units that will remain available to be installed in the location designated by the Construction Project Management.
Currently, the beneficiaries of the canopies are around 83% of the users, since not all the network of bus stops have them, with this action it will be possible to increase and reach 87% of the total number of passengers. This is because to achieve this, priority has been given to those stops with the largest number of users, as well as those that are close to medical offices or schools.
