The Council of Tenerife commitment to the reconversion of the industrial and craft sector. That is the meaning of the grant of 325,000 euros earmarked for this by the Island Government Council. The executive body approved the bases and the call for this line that aims to introduce new production systems that improve business profitability and promote the circular economy on the Island. The area of EmploymentSocioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, allocates the item to the granting of aid to defray the expenses equivalent to the modernization of micro-enterprises.
This is a multi-year economic injection of subsidies for 2023-2024 that contemplates the possibility of expanding the available credit by 200,000 more euros.
The acting counselor for the area, Carmen Luz Baso, assures that with these incentives they want to support the diversification of the island’s economy, specifically industry, so that it adapts its business model to the new regulations and market requirements. in addition to improving its profitability and efficiency.
In this sense, Baso details that the subsidies, aimed at both the self-employed and micro-enterprises, can be invested in improving production and distribution processes; digitization and the development of actions in terms of sustainability and transition to a more efficient circular economy in the use of resources, with low emissions.
According to the bases, the amount of the aid will be 70% of the investment made, with a maximum of 15,000 euros. In addition, a minimum investment of 3,000 will be required in the expenses considered eligible.
The circular economy is a model of production and consumption that involves sharing, renting, reusing, repairing, renewing and recycling existing materials and products as many times as possible to create added value. Thus, the life cycle of the products is extended. Among the criteria valued at the time of the concession is the size of the company; guarantee the maintenance of jobs; have employed people with a proven disability of at least 33 percent and make a tangible contribution to environmental sustainability.
The deadline for submitting applications will be 20 calendar days from the day after publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (BOP).
