SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Theater, dance or movement arts companies and musical formations on the island can now sign up for the new edition of Teatro en la Escuela. The Auditorio de Tenerife program, promoted by the Education Area of the Cabildo, will make a selection of the registered projects to prepare a catalog with which the island’s schools can request creative functions or processes for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The bases of this program of the Educational and Social Area of the Auditorium can now be consulted on the website https://auditoriodetenerife.com/es/educativa-y-social/teatro…. The selection will be carried out by means of an evaluation commission based on published criteria and in accordance with the principles of objectivity, competition and publicity.

The companies or formations must present their show projects or creative processes in the form of a dossier and accompanied by a didactic guide adapted to the level of the students to whom it is presented, which may be for infant, primary, secondary, baccalaureate and training courses. . The registration period ends on June 23.

Professional theatrical, dance or movement arts companies may participate, as well as legally constituted musical groups, with registered office or permanent headquarters on the island of Tenerife. Projects supported by professionals (theatre, dance and music) and multidisciplinary teams in the field of education, pedagogy, etc. will be valued.

In the case of performances, their duration must range between 45 and 75 minutes and, in terms of creative processes, they will count as two performances and must consist of five work sessions. In this way, each selected project will be eligible for 10 representations or 5 creative processes to be developed throughout the course.

This eighth edition will begin next September and will last until June 2024, coinciding with the school year. As every year, publicity and coordination with the centers in the catalog resulting from the selection process will be the responsibility of the Auditorio de Tenerife team.

Among the objectives of this program, it is worth noting that of making the scenic and musical languages known to students in their own educational context, as well as bringing closer and disseminating the performing and musical arts among the island’s students. On the other hand, it is important to link academic aspects to the professional context of the performing and musical arts in Tenerife.

In this way, another of the goals is to promote values focused on dance and the arts of movement, related to art, health, the body, movement, linked to the artistic discipline of dance in a transversal and transdisciplinary way. . This line also includes enriching and diversifying their communicative, expressive and creative possibilities through musical language.

Fostering the integral development of students through the arts and creating the bases to favor the socialization of students within the school space through cultural activities are other purposes of this initiative that is celebrating seven consecutive years.
