SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The spokesperson for the PACMA Animalist Party, Yolanda Morales, has shared on her social networks this Sunday the video of a Facebook user who denounced the attempted abandonment of a dog in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona early on Saturday. In the images you can see how the animal runs behind the vehicle, which accelerates up the street.
The user, who has reported that she has filed a complaint about the events with the Civil Guard, indicated in the text of the publication that the person driving the green Fiat Punto vehicle, presumably a woman, threw the animal out of the window and started the march with the presumed objective of leaving him behind. When rebuked by the people who took the images, she stopped several streets away, she put the animal back in the car and left. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
Morales has pointed out that he has no more information to date and that he does not know if the dog is still in the hands of this person, who could face a fine of up to 15,000 euros for abandonment, this being a very serious offense according to Law 8/1991 of Protection of Animals of the Canary Islands.

Despite the fact that the license plate can be seen in the published video, from PACMA they claim to be collecting data on the alleged offender with the aim of facilitating the investigation by the Civil Guard and seeking not only a fine but the precautionary removal of the dog, which they affirm ” It will end up in a ditch.”
“The objective of viralizing the video (it has more than 40,000 visits on Instagram and Tiktok in less than 12 hours) is to raise awareness about how serious and reprehensible it is to carry out an act of this ilk; try to locate this person so that they can carry out an inspection and remove all the animals in your care, and of course, save the life of the dog, whose end will not be pleasant if it is not found in time because it will find a way to get rid of it”, concludes the spokeswoman.
Morales has encouraged anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of the animal or the driver to contact the Animalist Party through their social networks or their own.
