SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Tenerife and Gran Canaria will host next October the children’s production ‘Dumbo, the musical’, an inclusive show that focuses on the fight against ‘bullying’ recommended by the Spanish Theater Network and which was recognized as the ‘Best Children’s Show’ ‘ in the thirtieth edition of the ‘Premios Teatros de Rojas’ and national award for ‘Best Children’s Musical Broadwayworld 2020’.
The montage has been prepared by Candileja Producciones based on the original story -created in 1939 by Helen Aberson and recovered by Disney for the film- but updated to fight bullying among children and young people.
The chosen venues are the Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna on October 12 and the Víctor Jara de Vecindario Theater two days later and tickets are already on sale at the same theater or directly at www.tickety.es.
The company, which has had the ‘Musicales for All’ branch for a few years with the aim of tackling social issues through the playwright and actor Jesús Sanz-Sebastián, has adapted the original text of ‘Dumbo’ to the current stage to make a “resounding appeal against the harassment suffered by those who are different”, they specify in a note.
Some of the actors who are part of the cast of ‘Dumbo, the musical’ are actors with and without disabilities, including two actresses with down syndrome –Ana Martín and Verónica Fernández–.
‘Dumbo, the musical’ fights against bullying through education, theater and music with a colorful and lively show full of fun songs that serve as a context for children, young people and adults to enjoy together while learning the importance of respect to those who are and feel different.
