SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has approved today the bases and the call for the granting of direct subsidies to the entities that distribute essential products among people and families in vulnerable situations.
The call is endowed with 60,000 euros and will be used to cover inventoriable expenses, which are necessary for the optimal development of its activity. The aforementioned economic endowment will be distributed as follows: 40,000 euros will be distributed equally among the entities that are beneficiaries, and the remaining 20,000 euros, depending on the number of people served during the year 2022.
The acting CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, indicated that the objective is to support volunteer entities so that they can maintain their organizational structure efficiently and thus reinforce the solidarity activity they carry out, serving individuals and families. in a social emergency situation on the island.
Gugliotta pointed out that these aids are added to the line of subsidies of 1.7 million euros that this year the Cabildo has allocated, through the Social Action, Citizen Participation and Diversity area, to the distribution of basic products among the population of Tenerife who need it most.
The beneficiary associations will have a period to execute the aid from July 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. Among the requirements to be eligible for these subsidies, the entities must be associated with the Tenerife Isla Solidaria program, dependent on the Insular Society for the Promotion of People with Disabilities (Sinpromi), and they also have to focus their activity and be currently distributing essential products among the population in a situation of social fragility.
Once approved by the Governing Council, the call will be published in the coming days in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP). The entities interested in concurring will be able to know the bases in the Bulletin Board of the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo Insular (https://sede.tenerife.es).
