He Council of Tenerife is acting as an emergency to repair the water transport pipeline Tágara-Trevejoslocated in the municipality of Isora Guideafter detecting yesterday a break in a section of about 8 meters probably due to the impact of a rock detached from the slope.
The insular Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Javier Parrilla, explains in a statement that the emergency of the works has been declared due to the importance of this pipeline for the municipality of Vilaflor and part of Adeje, Arona and San Miguel de Pay.
According to the report issued by the technical services, the repair work is expected to be completed in fifteen days, given the difficulty of accessing the area, adds the counselor.
The island manager points out, however, that the Trevejos pond is at 75% capacity, with 207,538 cubic meters, so there is “tranquility and guarantee of supply for irrigation water.”
It adds that on the afternoon of June 7, a significant decrease in the flow that reaches Boca Cascajo was observed, at the end of the pipeline, and an analysis was begun to determine the possible causes.
The following morning, a break in an 8-meter-long section of pipe was located, some 500 meters from the southeast entrance of the Tágara tunnel, probably caused by the impact of some rock detached from the slope as a result of the rains that produced in the previous days.
