The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS), will allocate 80,000 euros this year to the granting of emergency aid to meet the different needs of the users of the Childhood and Family Unit.
The third vice-president of the Cabildo de Tenerife and acting counselor of the Social Action area, Marián Franquet, explained that this line of aid, whose regulatory bases are published today Monday in the Official Gazette of the Province, is “to promote the social integration of young people ex-guardians after reaching the age of majority, avoiding situations of need or social emergency, in addition to facilitating the family reintegration of children and adolescents who have abandoned the foster care regime”.
“This is a way to help promote the independence of people over 18 years of age who must leave the foster home and to serve as a support for them to achieve their aspirations and integrate satisfactorily into society,” said the counselor. in functions.
Marián Franquet added that in the case of users who are still minors and are in a situation of helplessness or residential care, this aid will go to those relatives or close people who will be in charge of their guardianship.
Among the eligible expenses are all those related to basic needs (hygiene, clothing, water, electricity, gas, etc.), accommodation (rent), transportation and travel (in the national territory and abroad), socio-sanitary needs, school needs ( nursery, school supplies, dining room, etc.) training studies for employment, needs derived from the Family Intervention Plan or of an extraordinary nature.
The application model and the bases will be available to interested persons in the IASS General Registry, on the Institute’s website (http://www.iass.es/) or at the Citizen Services Center of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
