The Electoral Committee of the Popular Party met this Monday to approve the list of candidates who will run for the Congress of Deputies with whom they will run in the next general elections on July 23.
Jimena Delgado, economist, has been a candidate this year in the municipal elections for mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. For his part, Juan Antonio Rojas Manrique, is a member of the Island Executive Committee of the PP of Tenerife, candidate for the island’s Cabildo in 2015 and president of New Generations of the Popular Party until September 2013.
In this candidacy, 39 of the 52 heads of the list are renewed. The president of the party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will head the list for Madrid, the general secretary, Cuca Gamarra, that of La Rioja, and the general coordinator, Elías Bendodo, will head that of Malaga. The criteria used by the Electoral Committee, chaired by Diego Calvo, to select the heads of the list has been to include people who “have a long political and legislative career, as well as proven experience in public and private management.”
