SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Canarios sin alas has asked the political parties to include in their electoral programs the establishment of a Public Service Obligation (OSP) on the routes between the Canary Islands and the Peninsula and hopes that the call for General Elections on July 23 will not delay the OSP pilot project between Madrid and Lanzarote.
Through a statement, Canarios sin alas has denounced that the prices to fly to the Canary Islands in summer “continue exorbitant” and buying a ticket for an urgent trip “continues to be very difficult for canaries who live on the Peninsula. For this reason they ask political parties that include in their electoral programs the establishment of a Public Service Obligation on the routes between the Canary Islands and the Peninsula.
Canarios sin alas has been convinced that the political parties will do so, in coherence with what was agreed in the Non-Legal Proposal that was approved in the Senate two months ago. For this reason, he hopes that they will be receptive to his requests and look for other formulas that allow the Canary Islands to be closer to the rest of Spain.
As they point out in their statement, “we Canarians who live on the Peninsula want to be able to visit our families and friends, for our grandparents to enjoy our children and to be able to say goodbye to a family member, something that many have not been able to do”. In turn, they emphasize that they do not want to lose “the roots with the land that saw us born, in an interconnected world in which there are more than 100,000 daily flights because #elavionesnuestraguagua #elavionesnuestrocochecompartido”.
Canaries without wings is also confident that the next president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, will include in the government program that he agrees with the Popular Party, point 33 of the document ‘100 days to change the Canary Islands’ presented by the Canary Islands Coalition before the electoral campaign of the last May, which expressly stated ‘agree on aid for canaries residing in the Peninsula’.
