The Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) and the Tacoronte Popular Party (PP) have closed a governance agreement for the next four years, with the socialist Sandra Izquierdo in the Mayor’s Office. Between the three formations there are 12 councilors; five from the PSOE, four from the CC and three from the PP -at the expense of the result of the appeal filed by the nationalists before the Electoral Board for the loss of one of its five mayors, granted to Vox after the claim for invalid votes-.
After various meetings held by the three formations with the rest of the parties, Sandra Izquierdo (PSOE), Noemí García (CC) and José Caro (PP) will be the leaders of the tripartite tacorontero.
“It is a pact of three forces with which we are very satisfied, because loyalty, honesty and work have been discussed, which are very necessary in our municipality. The three of us know that we have to get fully involved for Tacoronte to move forward”, pointed out the popular José Caro after signing the agreement: “From the beginning we spoke clearly and that is essential in a government pact. We want to work and move Tacoronte forward after many years of neglect and disorganization.”
For her part, Noemí García assured that after the meetings with the different forces, it has been with the socialists and popular ones with whom she has found common lines: “We share the concern for Tacoronte. Our common project is strong and is supported by the good understanding we have. We have joined three people who come to work for Tacoronte and get it afloat. We have respected the vote of the citizens for Sandra Izquierdo as the most voted candidate and each one of the members of this team is prepared for it and we want to start as soon as possible”.
The socialist Sandra Izquierdo will be the first woman mayor of the northern municipality. “Illusion, desire and team vision is what defines this pact. There is a lot of work to do, the town hall must be decongested and without a good harmony between us, it would not be possible. Apart from the good understanding with Noemí and José, the common points in the electoral programs of the three parties have been fundamental for this pact. There is much to do and Tacoronte, above all, needs its leaders to work as a team, reach agreements and be up to the political level of each circumstance. Citizens ask us for this, we have verified it with the electoral results, and we will do so”, expressed Sandra Izquierdo.
The distribution of areas will be finalized in future meetings. The three leaders agree that their first objective in the consistory will be to improve the situation of the city council staff to optimize resources for citizens.
