The plenary session of the Cabildo de Tenerife has agreed in an extraordinary session held this Thursday to grant honorary distinctions to 29 people, including the singer María Mérida (adoptive daughter) and the scientist Blas Cabrera (gold medal), in both cases posthumously.
Practically most of the awards have been agreed unanimously, except in the case of Isabel Hernández Marichal (posthumously adopted daughter), Juan Ruano Rojas (posthumously gold medal), Carmen Pitti (favorite daughter), Alonso Fernández del Castillo (favorite son), Sebastián Nicolás Delgado (gold medal) and Nelson Díaz (gold medal).
In the case of Nelson Díaz, eleven votes against and three abstentions were counted.
Otherwise, all the awards were unanimously approved:
