SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Insular Committee of the PSOE of Tenerife has unanimously approved this Wednesday that Pedro Martín and Marta Arocha lead the proposal of candidacy for the Senate for the island for the general elections that will be held next Sunday, July 23.
Pedro Martín, general secretary of the PSOE in Tenerife, expressed his gratitude to the militants “who have worked tirelessly for the Socialist Party in recent months” and recalled during the celebration of the Island Committee that in the last municipal elections “the PSOE won 19 councils of Tenerife, with up to eight absolute majorities. In addition, in 15 municipalities of the island the number of votes was increased with respect to the 2019 elections”.
“We are not going to make it easy for them because we are a consolidated party in Tenerife and we have plenty of reasons to win, the same reasons as the number of votes of the Tenerife citizens who have trusted the PSOE as their political force for the next four years”, clarified.
Over the next few weeks, assured Pedro Martín, “we have to remind citizens of the improvement in employment data, the increase in the professional minimum wage, the labor reform… all the measures that the Socialist Party has implemented during these years and defend that a country that has to be progress”.
Once the candidacy proposal has been approved by the Tenerife PSOE Island Committee, it will be submitted to the Autonomous Executive Commission, which will subsequently issue its report and recommendation to the Federal List Commission. After elaborating the definitive opinion of the candidacies, the Federal Committee will be the one who definitively approves the proposals next Saturday, June 10.
