boxseven and Tropical Tourist Canary Islands have signed the financing agreement for the project to reopen the Grand Hotel Taorothe historic hotel establishment that in the summer of 2024 it will reopen its doors and intends to return to the tourist offer of the island of Tenerife and to the city of Cross port this mythical establishment, which 130 years ago was born as the first luxury hotel in all of Spain.
The Gran Hotel Taoro will be managed by My Way Hotels & Resortshotel operator of Tropical Turística Canaria, and will have six gastronomic spaces, 207 rooms (414 accommodation beds), spread over the four floors of the hotel in an unbeatable setting, that of the Taoro Gardens, and its west wing will host three heated pools and a new center wellness.
The firm that ensures the financing of this project by boxseven aims to promote the development of Canary Islands, value an emblematic building and support the hotel sector as the engine of the economy of the archipelago. After the signature, a group made up of representatives of both organizations, headed by Manuel del CastilloCEO of Cajasiete and Rafael NoblejasGeneral Manager of Tropical Hotels, proceeded to make a site visit to see the progress that has taken place since January, when the rehabilitation of the property and its surroundings began.
The new hotel establishment will have 414 accommodation beds and three swimming pools
He Grand Hotel Taoro has a 100% local technical team that is employing 800 people directly and indirectly during the execution of the work and that, after its opening, will offer another 250 jobs to strengthen its operationswith the aim of continuing to bet on the talent of the archipelago.
Cajasiete has supported this project especially due to the commitment of Tropical Tourist Canary Islands to implement the best practices in the industry to reduce consumption, reduce the use of plastics, stationery and reduce environmental impact.
Sustainability will be one of the bulwarks of this hotelwhich will have up to 700 square meters of solar panels on its roofs, whose energy will mainly allow for the generation of sanitary hot water and to heat the pools in winter, pools that will be built with heat recovery systems and low-salt electrolysis, to avoid the use chlorine and chemicals.
