The Teide saucer before the storm ‘Óscar’

The canaries are waiting for the arrival of the storm Oscar and it seems that the Teide also. During the morning of this Monday, June 5, the sky has left us a spectacular stamp.

During the morning of this Monday, the panoramic view of the National Park showed a different image. To the beauty of the Teide peak joined the one of the lenticular clouds that have been seen around them and that seem like the prelude to what is to come with the stormy ‘Óscar’.

What are they?

The Lenticular clouds, also called saucer clouds, or converging lens clouds are stationary and they form at high altitudes in mountainous areas and isolated from other clouds.

As reported the time isfor the formation of this type of clouds the presence of a strong wind is necessary, of more than 35 kilometers per hour. that incise perpendicular or almost to the mountains and also with a atmospheric stability marked by the presence of thermal inversion above the top of the mountain. At the gates of the storm Oscarit is seen that these conditions were already present during the morning and said clouds have been able to form.

In fact, although the forecast of strong gusts of wind, more than 90 kilometers per houris scheduled for Tuesday in Tenerife and La Palma, thanks to the arrival of the storm some lucky ones have been able to enjoy this picture.

Be that as it may, this wonderful image, which has been captured by the cameras of some lucky ones, is the prelude to what is to come with the storm Oscarand it is usually indicative that the time unstable.
