CC and PP advance the recovery of senior programs under the Ansina philosophy and support gas as transition energy

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The government pact approved this Monday by the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) and the Popular Party and which will make Rosa Dávila president — the first in the corporation’s history — included an express recognition of the Government of the Canary Islands to comply with the island and Execute and complete all pending road works.

The document, collected by Europa Press, indicates that the Cabildo will play an “active role” in the configuration of the island’s road network and will sign a mobility pact with the island’s municipalities, with the transport subsector and with the University of La Laguna that will be based on the Sustainable Mobility Plan that is in the drafting phase.

Likewise, the use of public transport will be encouraged –including the possibility of sustaining free use of certain services and groups– and the development of projects for regional trains in the North and South.

The agreement is also committed to promoting job creation with hiring incentives, creating a social inclusion strategy in line with the 2030 Agenda set by the United Nations and adapting the development of the island to the strong demographic increase, which is estimated at around 10,000 inhabitants. year.

Facing the elderly, a ‘Pact for Dependency’ will be promoted, with a crash plan and more resources through agreements with private centers, and the implementation of a leisure and revitalization program that will be based on the ‘Ansina ‘, eliminated by the current government group (PSOE-CS).

In terms of youth, CC and PP will link Vocational Training with university degrees and will reform the scholarship policy of the Cabildo de Tenerife, at the same time that a large area of sports and cultural infrastructures will be set up capable of attracting large events for the island and will give the “definitive impetus” to the Circuit of the
Engine.

Both formations also lay the foundations of a “sustainable island” with the promotion of renewable energies, including the association to
green hydrogen storage and generation systems, a new waste management model and the use of gas as a transition fuel compared to fuel oil.

RESET THE MEDIUM

The pact also includes creating new performing arts centers, updating the sports infrastructure plan and bidding for major events and reestablishing the MEDI (Strategic Framework for Island Development) as an essential instrument for investment planning and consensus with the municipalities to achieve its balanced distribution.

The new government team advances that it will promote that the ordering and management of the Teide National Park respect its environmental integrity and compatible traditional uses, it will reinforce the tourist brand of the island and it will promote the construction of the port of Puerto de la Cruz.

Regarding the primary sector, both CC and PP promote a strategic plan to support the livestock sector, the implementation of an insular crop plan for Tenerife or the change of model of the Insular Slaughterhouse.

Likewise, and given the lack of “effective housing policies” due to population growth and job creation in the tourism sector, it is proposed to create an Island Housing Plan.
