A Jet2 flight that covered the route between the British city of Newcastle and Tenerife South had to land in an emergency this afternoon at the Portuguese airport of Porto.
The plane, a Boeing 737-8, had taken off from the north of England a few minutes before four in the afternoon. After about two hours of flight, the crew declared an alert and diverted course to the left toaround 4:24 p.m., landing at the Portuguese airport, according to the monitoring carried out by the FlightRadar24.com website.
The aircraft took off again from Porto at 7:25 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive on the island around 10:30 p.m. about two hours behind schedule.
