SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The general coordinator of Más Canarias, Javier Navarro Lasso, has asked his party to immediately submit to a question of confidence before the entire General Assembly. Navarro Lasso, likewise, has made public that, if he does not obtain the confidence of the party, he will resign immediately.
The current leader of the progressive and green formation considers that this is “an obligatory step for all of us who are in charge of the parties in the Canary Islands space.” It is the case that, just yesterday, a press release was sent to the media requesting the unity of the entire space, as well as independent or consensus candidacies.
“After the electoral bump and the disenchantment of the voters with whom we led, because our division has led us to the virtual disappearance of space, it is time to exercise responsibility,” asserted the general coordinator of Más Canarias.
And it is the case that, even if the space added up all the votes obtained in the regional elections, it would still be a few thousand votes away from VOX. According to Navarro Lasso, “with the results in hand, not only unity is necessary, but hope.” To do this, he defends list heads for Congress that are independent of the parties or, at least, that are candidacies that generate more consensus “and that all parties feel common.
The question of confidence in his position, if the assembly so admits, will be voted on this weekend. “We have to avoid by all means the punishment vote or that the voter stays at home because they do not trust the same faces that led them to give governments to the right. The common good must prevail over personal interests,” concludes Navarro Lasso.
