SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands approved this Thursday the decree by which the implementation of the teachings leading to the obtaining of the official titles of Master’s Degree by the Universidad del Atlántico Medio in Safety at Work and Standardized Management Systems is agreed, and in Integrated Management Systems QHSE (acronym in English for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, which translates as Quality, Health, Safety and Environment).
On October 1, 2020, the Governing Board of the Universidad del Atlántico Medio requested authorization from the General Directorate of Universities for the implementation of the courses leading to obtaining official degrees, and on December 10 of that year the board of trustees of said institution agreed, unanimously and on the proposal of the Governing Board, the implementation of the teachings leading to the obtaining of official titles.
Thus, the Canarian Agency for University Quality and Educational Evaluation (ACCUEE) issued two reports in December last year at the request of the General Directorate of Universities on the need and academic and social feasibility of these courses.
On February 28 and March 3, 2022, the Universidad del Atlántico Medio requested authorization from the Government of the Canary Islands for the implementation of the aforementioned official university degrees, and on May 24 the ACCUEE reported that these meet the requirements and criteria established in the decree that regulates the procedure, requirements and evaluation criteria for the authorization of university teaching leading to the obtaining of official Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, collects a note from the Government.
Students who have begun studies in accordance with previous university regulations will be able to access these new teachings that are implemented, prior admission by the University, in accordance with the provisions of the royal decree establishing the organization of university teachings and the procedure of quality assurance and in the regulations of the university itself.
The implementation of these studies does not imply any cost for the administration of the Autonomous Community, they highlight from the Executive.
