An 81-year-old man was seriously injured at noon yesterday when he suffered stab wounds in the municipality of Guide of Isora, in the west of Tenerife. According to one of the sources consulted, the octogenarian was attacked by his own daughter, who suffers from mental health problems. The Civil Guard arrested the woman.
The events occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Tinguaro street, in the Chiguergue neighborhood. According to some sources, the assault with a knife took place as a result of an argument between the man and his daughter.
He Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112 immediately mobilized a basic life support ambulance and another medicalized one from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), in addition to activating the doctor and nurse from the municipal health center. Likewise, agents of the Civil Guard appeared at the place.
The injuries consisted of a series of cuts on various parts of the body. At first, the affected person was transferred in one of the ambulances to the Guía de Isora outpatient clinic. However, the health personnel considered it appropriate to transfer the victim to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital (Hunsc), as reported by 112. The octogenarian was transferred in a medicalized ambulance with serious injuries.
