SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Minors and Family Operational Unit (UMEFA) of the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police (CGPC) investigates, in coordination with the Minors’ Prosecutor’s Office, a group made up of three minors for an alleged crime of sexual assault on a minor under 13 years of age committed on a beach in the south of Tenerife, close to a nightlife area.

According to police sources, there are “clear indications” that a crime of sexual assault has been committed against the 13-year-old victim.

The facts were brought to the attention of the agents after the complaint filed by the minor’s father last March, the Canary Islands Police reported in a note.

The group sexual assault occurred on a beach in the south of Tenerife in the wee hours of the morning at the end of February when the victim, in a state of drunkenness or under the influence of some drug, was attacked by the group of young people, two of whom who, between the ages of 15 and 17, were arrested to clarify the role they played in a sexual assault, as well as their relationship with each other.

Investigators have had sufficient evidence that peripherally corroborates the version given by the victim, such as statements by eyewitnesses or conversations with one of her attackers after suffering the attack.

The possibility is even being considered that the events had been recorded by one of the aggressors.

For his part, the victim, who has had episodes of anguish after the group attack, has, according to the police version, clear indicators of helplessness, which has led to the transfer of the matter to the General Directorate for Child Protection and the Family, in order to provide adequate and immediate protection.

The investigation, carried out by the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police through the Minors and Family Unit (UMEFA), is still in progress.
