The acting mayor of La Guancha, Antonio Hernandezhas announced this Wednesday the restriction until further notice of tap water consumption for the entire populationboth for drinking and for cooking or preparing food, before the “critical” levels presenting the deposits.
Hernández, reports the local corporation in a statement, has ordered to stop the desalination of part of the water that enters the tanks to incorporate raw water and thus be able to recover the levels as soon as possible.
The Department of Water of the local Administration tries to guarantee the supply to all the neighbors for the development of domestic tasks and personal hygiene, avoiding “a greater problem for the population in general”, adds the note.
The priority, the councilor points out, is that “water is not lacking in any home”, and he advances that next week analyzes will be carried out to determine whether the restriction should continue for the entire population or not.
These analyzes, he clarifies, cannot be carried out immediately because we have to wait for the homogenization process of the treated and untreated water, which began to enter the tanks this Wednesday.
