The implementation of the municipal body for environmental evaluation of Santa Cruz has meant that the Urban Planning Management has addressed the Government of the Canary Islands to return to the Santa Cruz City Council the files that had been sent so that the Autonomous Community could carry out the corresponding environmental assessment reports. Thus, the Management, at the head of which is the councilor of the PP, Guillermo Díaz Guerra, until the formation of the new government team, has requested the return of the files of the General Planning Plan, the building protection catalogue, and of the Special Plan of the Hotels-Pino del Oro.
After the appointment of the members of the municipal commission, work has begun so that the environmental evaluation of these files can be carried out in the City Hall. As Díaz Guerra announced to DIARIO DE AVISOS last week, the catalog of buildings will be the first to be worked on. A catalog that, on the other hand, the Management itself recognized that it had not been able to be approved because it had been in the Government of the Canary Islands for more than a year for its environmental evaluation, without even starting the file.
This delay has led to the owners of the properties included in it resorting to the court, where, according to Urbanismo, in at least four cases, they have ended up giving the reason, allowing them to be demolished, since the time has already been exceeded. of the precautionary protection provided by being included in the catalog as susceptible to protection.
