Three in the morning yesterday. The vote count for the elections the Cabildo de Tenerife reaches its final stretch. It is already at 97% and everything seems decided with a technical tie at 11 councilors between PSOE and CC although a slight advantage in number of votes for the socialist Peter Martin regarding the nationalist Rosa Davila. However, in just a few minutes the Lope Alonso’s Popular Party wins its eighth councilor at the expense of Juan Antonio Alonso de Canarian Coalition. SThis is Ana Krysten Martín, Councilor for Economic Promotion for the last four years in the southern municipality of Santiago del Teide whose mayor is Emilio Navarro, the insular president of the popular. Martín surpassed in extremis the nationalist Alonso. This last-minute change of positions for a handful of votes is not trivial. Strengthens the position of the PP when facing the negotiation of possible pacts. Those of Lope Afonso are only two councilors from the Coalition and three from the PSOE with 78,816 supports; that is, 20.06% of the votes cast in the elections last Sunday 28.
Ana Krysten Martín assured a few days ago on her social networks that “together with Lope Afonso I am sure that I will continue to enrich myself in knowledge, in good practice and in executing the best policy for Tenerife”. Martín Hernández has been coordinator of the FAUCA Federation and manager of Open Commercial Zones. He is responsible for the commercial department of the Círculo de Empresarios del Sur de Tenerife (CEST).
