SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 30. (EUROPE PRESS) –
A 77-year-old man has been injured after falling from several meters high when he was fishing in the Rojas area, in the municipality of El Sauzal, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1- 1-2.
The event occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m., when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert that a fisherman had fallen from a ladder onto a rocky area, from several meters high, and he required health care.
Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources and members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium, the rescue helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands, were mobilized; Local police; and a medicalized ambulance from the SUC.
Once there, the rescuers from the GES helicopter accessed the affected person and, together with members of the Consortium of Firefighters and Local Police, gave him first attention, proceeded to rescue him and evacuated him to the Tenerife North Airport.
Once on land, SUC personnel assisted the fisherman and transferred him by basic life support ambulance from the airport to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands, presenting various moderate polycontusions, except for complications.
