SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 26. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife has obtained 2.2 million euros of European funds to continue its digital transformation process and to be able to move forward in a new phase focused on automation and reducing processing times.

This financing is part of the 8 million euros allocated by the Ministry of Territorial Policy to the digital transformation of the island councils and councils within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The Minister of the Presidency, Finance and Modernization, Berta Pérez, explained that the project presented by the Cabildo has, among other objectives, financing the necessary infrastructures to introduce the use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies with which to deploy new digital services to through chatbots and the robotization of processes.

Workstations are also equipped with new generation and high productivity tools so that public employees can carry out their work in a more collaborative way and comply with the standards of the National Security Scheme.

The project, which is entitled Modernization and scaling of server and desktop virtualization infrastructures, improvement of connectivity and implementation of the new generation workstation of the Cabildo de Tenerife, also includes other technological improvements aimed at guaranteeing an adequate provision of public services.

The line of subsidies for the digital transformation of the councils arose as a result of a proposal presented by the Modernization Commission of the Canary Island Federation (Fecai) to the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, given the absence of credits for the councils insulares in the calls for NEXTGUE grants for the digital transformation of the local administration published during 2022.

All these actions are included in various projects of the Modernization Plan of the Cabildo de Tenerife 2020-2023, which aims to promote a transformation at an organizational, procedural, technological, human resources and transparency level.
