SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 25. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The project of the Cabildo de Tenerife to provide a web platform for citizen participation to the city councils of the island starts with the adhesion of 15 municipalities.
Included in the 2023 Municipal Modernization Plan, through this project, the Cabildo provides the necessary support, tools and advice to local administrations to develop these digital spaces for interaction with the population.
The initiative, promoted by the Presidency, Finance and Modernization area and the Delegate Council for Citizen Participation and Diversity, aims to promote the active participation of the population in the development of municipal policies and reinforce the interaction between local governments and the citizenship.
This action also contributes to helping municipalities reduce the workload associated with the management of information and communication technologies (ICT); reduce the cost of operating computer systems, and improve the security conditions of ICT, collects a note from the Cabildo.
The town councils attached so far are Arafo, Buenavista, El Sauzal, Fasnia, Garachico, La Matanza, La Victoria, Los Silos, San Juan de la Rambla, San Miguel, Santa Úrsula, Santiago del Teide, El Tanque, Tegueste and Vilaflor de Chasna.
These municipalities will be able to stay on the Cabildo’s citizen participation platform, where they will have a specific space for their autonomous and independent management.
In this way, the Cabildo collaborates in the creation of these platforms, their hosting and maintenance, using the same open source standard tool Consul Democracy on which the Cabildo Abierto platform is based (https://cabildoabierto.tenerife.es/).
