SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 23. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Employment and Socioeconomic Development area, will organize the 39th edition of the Canary Islands Crafts Fair, which will take place on the island between December 5 and 10 with the participation of 140 artisans from all islands.
This has been approved today Tuesday in the plenary session of the insular Corporation. By signing an agreement to formalize with the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo will assume the organization of this event.
The Fair has been held annually since 1985. Since its inception, always sponsored by the Government of the Canary Islands, it has been held on an itinerant basis in the two provinces. Except on three occasions, it has been located on the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
The Minister of Employment and Socioeconomic Development, Carmen Luz Baso, pointed out that the work to be carried out by the Cabildo will correspond to the adaptation of the venue for the celebration to the needs of the fair, in order to house the participating artisans, in addition to a institutional stand shared between the Government of the Canary Islands and the island councils, as well as for any other institution linked to Canarian culture, especially in the area of crafts, in order to create synergies that can contribute to the promotion of crafts or to attract of visitors.
In addition, the Cabildo will be in charge of carrying out the necessary actions for the design of the space, the decoration and location of the exhibition and sale stands, as well as managing the accommodation, transfers and maintenance of the artisans from other islands and to design a promotion and dynamization campaign for the fair to attract visitors
