SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 24. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma), through the General Directorate of Housing and Land, has signed two agreements with the Canarian Housing Institute, attached to the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing, for the rehabilitation of 952 publicly owned homes.
Of the total budgeted to carry out these actions, more than 31.5 million euros, the Ministry will contribute more than 19.2 million from NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), which represents around 60% of the planned investment.
The actions will be carried out in a single phase in 18 residential areas in the towns of Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Gáldar, Santa Brígida, Valsequillo, Valleseco, Artenara, Puerto del Rosario, Betancuria, La Oliva and Tías, all in the province of Las Palmas, as well as in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
These agreements are part of the Aid Program for the rehabilitation of residential environments at the neighborhood level of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which contemplates the transfer of up to 2,970 million euros to autonomous communities and cities in three annual installments to finance this type of of interventions in houses, residential buildings and neighbourhoods.
All the actions will be managed and co-financed by the Government of the Canary Islands, as the direct beneficiary of the aid and without the need for a concession to the ultimate recipients.
Specifically, in the province of Las Palmas, the Ministry has signed an agreement for the rehabilitation of a total of 448 homes and their surroundings. In the case of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Mitma has signed an agreement for the rehabilitation of 504 homes and their surroundings.
