The events occurred at 6:34 a.m., in the direction of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium went to the scene, insured the damaged vehicles and freed an affected person from inside one of the cabins.

Subsequently, the personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated the 48-year-old woman, who at the initial moment of assistance presented cervical pain and moderate chest trauma, except for complications, for which she was transferred by ambulance to the San Juan de Dios Hospital.

The 57-year-old woman had mild neck pain, except for complications, for which she was transferred by ambulance to Hospital Parque.

At the scene of the incident, there were also troops from the Highway Maintenance Service, who carried out cleaning tasks on the road; while agents of the Civil Guard regulated traffic in the area and made the corresponding report.

The incident caused the highway to collapse for more than an hour, causing a traffic jam for several kilometers in the direction of Santa Cruz.

Some of the drivers stuck in the traffic have commented on social networks about the time they had not moved: “30 minutes to reach the El Sauzal curve,” said one user. “Every day worse. There is no solution. 1:30 hours in line”, added another. Another user recalled that there was also a big traffic jam on the TF-5 on Monday afternoon: “Retentions. AFTER HOURS RETENTION LAST AFTERNOON NORTHBAND.”

This Monday, two other incidents also caused kilometer traffic jams on the same road, in both ways. Specifically, early in the afternoon a multiple accident coincided at the height of Guamasa, in the Santa Cruz direction, and a fire on a hillside located next to the road on the access curve to La Orotava along the Cuesta de La Villa, north direction .
