The TF-5 highway has dawned this Tuesday with a new collapse as it passes through La Laguna. The reason has been on this occasion an accident between two vehicles at the height of Los Majuelos. Two women, aged 48 and 57, have been injured of varying degrees, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center of 112 in the Canary Islands.

In line from La Matanza and we took 30 minutes to get to the Sauzal curve. Will my daughter make it to the exam she has to take at the Faculty of Pharmacy? This is unfortunate 😞 Those of us from the North know that we must leave 1h and 30min before to avoid the queues but we continue the same pic.twitter.com/J9fQegr89A

At the scene of the incident, there were also troops from the Highway Maintenance Service, who carried out cleaning tasks on the road; while agents of the Civil Guard regulated traffic in the area and made the corresponding report.
The incident caused the highway to collapse for more than an hour, causing a traffic jam for several kilometers in the direction of Santa Cruz.
Some of the drivers stuck in the traffic have commented on social networks about the time they had not moved: “30 minutes to reach the El Sauzal curve,” said one user. “Every day worse. There is no solution. 1:30 hours in line”, added another. Another user recalled that there was also a big traffic jam on the TF-5 on Monday afternoon: “Retentions. AFTER HOURS RETENTION LAST AFTERNOON NORTHBAND.”
This Monday, two other incidents also caused kilometer traffic jams on the same road, in both ways. Specifically, early in the afternoon a multiple accident coincided at the height of Guamasa, in the Santa Cruz direction, and a fire on a hillside located next to the road on the access curve to La Orotava along the Cuesta de La Villa, north direction .
